Beautiful all natural Indian kadamba wood beads. Kadamba wood is a fine grained wood that comes from the neolamarckia calamba species. It resembles the color of sandalwood but without the scent. (see below for more information on this type of wood)

The beads are wax polished giving them a light sheen. This leaves them with a soft silky feel. Even with the wax, they may still absorb oil from your skin and darken slightly over time.

Description 

Beautiful all natural Indian kadamba wood beads. Kadamba wood is a fine grained wood that comes from the neolamarckia calamba species. It resembles the color of sandalwood but without the scent. (see below for more information on this type of wood)

The beads are wax polished giving them a light sheen. This leaves them with a soft silky feel. Even with the wax, they may still absorb oil from your skin and darken slightly over time.

Your choice of 6mm or 8mm beads.

Choose between a half strand of 54 beads or a full strand of 108 beads.

Hole size: <1mm

Both sizes have the same size hole. These are smaller holes than you typically find with wood and ideal for knotting with the same size cord as with most gemstone beads of the same size. It is suitable to use with both the size 8 and size 10 Griffin cord we well in the shop.

It is a fast growing tree making it a sustainable choice for wood. It is considered sacred by many and often planted near temples. It is one of the important medicinal plants belonging to the Rubiaceae family and is native to South and Southeast Asia and is widely found in different parts of India as well as other countries in the region. May is the month when the kadamba tree yields fruit so the tree is also called May tree.
